UCI vs. UIUC vs. UWSeattle vs. Emory

I got in these four colleges for undecided major. But I’m most likely studying computer science in the future. How should I choose? What are the pros and cons?

What is your net price at each school?

Emory seems to have the smallest and most limited (in course offerings) CS department.

For the others, consider whether you have been admitted to the CS major. If not, consider the difficulty of entering the CS major later; see the links in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19262574/#Comment_19262574 for each school.

What if I go for double major in Emory with Cs and math? Will Emory’s reputation help me on getting a job after college?

Transferring in to CS at UIUC is almost impossible and too risky. Getting in to CS at UDub is difficult and too risky for my tastes.

I don’t know how easy it is to get in to CS at UCI.

http://www.changeofmajor.uci.edu/CoM_ICS.html indicates that it is not too hard to switch into the CS major at UCI (2.0 GPA in prerequisites and overall needed).

@Cmj1997, it would be less “difficult” and less “risky” to get into CSE at UW if your stats are in the top 25% of the class (that is, > 3.85 UW GPA and 32 ACT (33 M)/2100 SAT (730 M)).

True. UW has some other CS-like majors that are easier to get in to.

Agreed, but I was referring to the computer science and computer engineering majors.

So does Emory worth going there at all?
