ok, so if you’re blond…I’m from Texas(the little column on the left of your screen says I’m from Dallas)… obviously OOS.
Now I still have a little time to ruin or make myself.
But as things sound I think I have a 3.8 or 3.9.
I’m in the top 10%, which matters for Instate admissions for UT.
I’ve always had this attraction to UCI, so I’ll apply to it as well as some other school.
But UT is pulling me over with it’s instate price, instate 10% admission, a little more prestige, and the whole Austin vibe.
Give me some good reasons I should go to UCI.
I plan to get an MBA in grad School, and I hear it doesn’t really matter what you do your undergrad years…
<<<<<<so what=“” at=“” uc=“” irvine=“” totally=“” kicks=“” ut’s=“” butt?=“”>>>>>>
Besides weather…which is all really opinion.
Cause the way its going, I might go to UT.
Now I know admissions may be tough for OOS
but I’m planning on taking 4 years of French
Testing out of Spanish, when I graduated 5th grade during the summer, Mexican schools were still in school so I went to school there for a month.
Know Chinese too, but I can’t test out of it cause they don’t have a test to test out of…go figure…I took/am taking schooling…separate schooling
so that’s 4 languages…
uhh I’ve been places…China, Philippines, Mexico, …and plan on going to Japan and Phils this summer…been to Canada too, but I don’t see how going to Canada would impress the admission officers unless it was in Quebec or something. so I don’t know how I’ll incorporate that into my college resume, but I’ll find some way…
Do I even have a shot at UCI, I hear the UCs are a crapshoot sometimes. Worst happens I get rejected, and UT is not a bad alternative.
all in All I plan to apply…maybe some UCSD(UCI too obviously) info too?
about:
Atmosphere
Academics
Prestige
Drug Scene (I hear UCI doesn’t have a lot, which is one of the reasons I like it)…
What is there to do around campus
Are most people there rejects from UCLA and Cal?
IS it uber competitive?
etc…
convince me that UCI is still worth applying to.
I don’t mean to Bash anyone or anything…
thanks :D</so>

anyone?
Seriously?

Hey ChaiMex - I don’t know why nobody responded to your post…but I can try. I haven’t actually gone to UCI, but am considering it for the fall (along with Cal and UCLA and UC Santa Cruz. The way I see it: UCI - best weather, clean campus, safe city, not uber-competitive, large college but not tooooo crazy/wild, a lot of options for majors and minors (more so than other UCs), and apparently very generous with financial aid if you qualify - being that they’re the UC that gave me the best offer, and many people (on this forum, as well as on the Anteaters Forum thing) wrote that they chose UCI because of the grants/scholarship.

All that being said, I would stay in-state for the cheaper tuition, no doubt. It obviously doesn’t hurt to apply…

Good luck!

Thanks ^^
I like UT, but UCI meets much of the criteria I have.
but the fact that UT seems more prestigious and cheaper is a huge draw…and as much as I like UCI, I probably won’t go.
I would go, if I were instate. I really would, over UCLA or Cal.
So I need some really good reasons why should I go over to UCI instead of UT.
So that way I can make an excuse to go…but a valid excuse…
Are any programs at UCI better then UT?

just go to UT if you think its more prestigious.

well yeah, that what my parent tell me.
But Its more then prestige.
I could go to Harvard but if my dream school is my local community college what good is it to be at a place you don’t like.
It not that I don’t like UT, I just think I would like Irvine alot better.
And I’ll apply, but I need valid reasons to go.
