UCI x GATI - anyone with experience?

Hi, I just learned about this summer research program for high schoolers at UC Irvine with GATI (UCI x GATI) - has anyone experienced prior BEAM sessions? How was it? Was the entire experience worth the money? Especially the long program with the post session for publication? Is it a real publication? How competitive/well-known/prestigious is this?

It contains a 2-week in-person session and the rest of it is online - I don’t know how much “research” can be done with this short in-person lab experience.

If you have previous experience, can you kindly share? Thanks.
