I heard that you need a UCInetID and password for internet connection. But do transfer students have a UCInetID and password? I tried setting up an account but the system doesn't seem to recognize me... Any help?

Thank you!

Yes transfers need them too. But I believe that UCI gives the ID to you (they gave me mine).

Everybody has an UCInet ID - freshmen, transfers, grad students, etc (the instructions for activating that should have been given to you with your admissions email/info).

It is very important and will be central to virtually all of your businesses relating to UCI, not just internet connection. You'll need it for student email, registering for classes, paying bills, dorms, etc, etc, etc.

Check your prior correspondence papers and emails to see if you may have missed the directions for activation. If you know your 8 digit student ID number (which was assigned to you when applying for admission), you can activate it here: https://ucinetid2.nacs.uci.edu/activate/menu.html
