omg guys!!! congrats whatasunnyday and girlyshout!

whats the ursa page supposed to look like when it “changes”
i didnt apply for financial aide so would mine still change?

Thanks everyone. Congrats to those who also made it.

watwatwat12, yes, even if you didn’t submit it would change. It would look something like this…

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3465/changeursa.jpg

I’m relunctant to believe ursa, at least until I can actually see it on the decision page.

i think for TAP students who are still pending like myself, they are considering the alternate major. For Sunnyday and Girlyshout i think you both got in as your alternate and you have the same major which means the releasing of the decisions for TAP/Alternate students depends on the major/department. This is a trend that i have been noticing, am i correct? BTW i am still pending with TAP. Primary major: History which i don’t think i got in for. Alternate Philosophy: Which i think i got in for because i haven’t heard of any TAP certified student who go in with philosophy as their alternate as of yet. I think i see a trend, can anyone give me some feedback.

last Thursday on these forums as well in person, i saw TAP students get in as their alternate majors. These majors are within the same department Asian Studies, Women’s studies etccc. I have yet to meet any TAP student who has a humanities major (philosophy for example) get in as their alternate yet.

my friend got into her alternate major (philosophy and TAP certified) on the first day decisions came out.

hmm oh well guess i was wrong lol. Knightofwolf are you still pending?

i am indeed. bizecon/comparative lit.

see that’s what i’m saying. I don’t mean to be harsh and i may be wrong, but i think you and i are being considered for our alternate majors. Comparative lit is in the humanities just like Philosophy.

Yeah that may be true but I also haven’t seen any bizecon people who are pending get in yet. So they may be just reviewing all of the bizecon majors that are pending and will release all bizecon majors together which goes along with ur theory about releasing decisions by departments. oh well we can’t say for sure, maybe its just all random =p

Yeah but the reason i said this is because i know bizecon is the most competitive major @ UCLA and i’ve seen people with really high GPA’s and TAP not get in. It could be random so i’m not 100% sure, but i just see a common trend with TAP/Alternate students being admitted by department. Your friend who got in w/TAP and Philosophy as their alternate on the first day was probably in a different batch than ours. The whole admissions process is making me paranoid ahhhhh.

I’ll let you know at 2 what department I was admitted to.

yeah tell me about it. I wake up in the morning and nervously check ursa, nothing changed. I nervously check ucla decision site for a rejection several times throughout the day, nothing changed. I relax for a little bit until the next day, ■■■.

I’ll be in my Japanese class till 6 tonight.

It would be great if I got accepted to Math/Econ instead of econ.

@whatasunnyday i am pretty certain that you got into your alternate Math/Econ. I’m not trying to sound cocky over here, but i strongly believe in this trend/pattern.

knightofwolf i am almost certain that we will get into our alternate majors.

For those of you not accepted yet, let me fill you in real quick. The actual moment may not be the greatest feeling, I mean there have been millions of feelings that are on par with the moment I got accepted, but the anxiety and anticipation that are present within 20 seconds of finding out is through the roof. By far, the most anxious I’ve ever felt was logging onto that website knowing they had just been released. I would say that the moments leading up to admission make it that much better, as in the moments and feelings leading up to it make me feel more human, not necessarily good or bad, but just alive. It’s true, of course, that you need to find a car or a sound proof room to let out that huge scream you’d been holding in. I suggest a car to scream in, the sound of the engine and the closed windows will drown out your loudest screams and claps. Always clap. It’s a good form of expression too, clap for yourself. One thing is for sure, if you didn’t have school spirit in high school, or community college, well the second you get in be ready for an overload of school spirit for you and you’re loved ones. Once you get in, not only will you have school spirit but you will want literally everyone in your family to rock that school gear. These are generalizations, there are some people who don’t show emotion at all.
