I’m also wondering when they started to disappear last year and in prior years. Did this usually correlate to an acceptance? Or am I making that up

Mine is still there. I think they only start to show up like hours before the decisions come out.

“Pre-“ may depend on which college you are in.
My D is pre- cuz they can’t declare major until sophomore year.

Some majors at UCLA you only declare after you complete pre major requirements. So there is no such thing as pre-physics, but statistics is going to show up as pre statistics. Once you take certain classes, you declare a major and you will be a stats major. So the reason some majors have pre and some not has to do with a choice of major and nothing to do with admissions.
