UCLA Accepted GPA - 75th Percentile

Hello! Does anyone know what the GPA is for the 75th percentile of accepted students at UCLA?

I’m looking at the UCLA decisions threads here on CC and I don’t match up to most of them lol (4.35 UC GPA).

Thanks!

Top 36% have a 4.0 unweighted. No similar info about weighted GPA. However, one can probably assume that most of the 4.0 students had at least 8 weighted classes (the most included in UC GPA), which would give them a 4.32 if they had 25 classes in 10th and 11th grades, and a 4.4 if they had 20 classes. So probably the 75th percentile is in the range of 4.32 to 4.4. Note that your UC GPA is higher the fewer classes you took, so Admissions may be more impressed with someone with a 4.32 than someone with a 4.4.

Thanks for the reply. However, I don’t understand how anyone can take twenty-something classes. At my school, there 6 periods. (6 x 2 = 12 classes from 10th to 11th grade)

Thanks again!

Most I could find is the average GPA for incoming freshman 2012, which is a 4.22. I tried accessing their CDS but the link seemed to be broken (not sure if they would’ve had it by percentile anyhow). It would be 20+ classes if you count each semester of the class, since that’s what they normally give grades by.

I see, thank you.

Well, my school has 8 periods and also many one-semester condensed courses including AP ones. So it is hard, but possible. To get extreme GPA’s.

I have a 4.2 unweighted and apparently I’m in the top 25% of applicants. Though I was wait listed at Davis so that was a bummer (accepted to ucsd though).

Does any of that help?

Did you apply this year?

@Mwm013 how do you have over a 4.0 UW? different scale?

Sorry, I meant as a UC GPA. I have a 4.26 UC GPA and my counselor said this is 75th percentile.

My unweighted is like a 3.9
