UCLA Appeals 2015 class of 2019

I just said I was sick and stuff @dannyman1019

I hope they release decisions out soon

Just wanna mention that my friend called UCLA a few days ago and they said that appeal decisions can take anywhere from now until the end of summer…good luck to all of us!

@MakeOrBreak END OF SUMMER??? Are you serious…I read last years group posts and they all got their decisions by end of may

Hey guys… I just got my appeal decision today. Denied

In response to your recent appeal regarding our Fall 2015 admission decision, we have carefully reviewed your application again. We are sorry to inform you that our initial decision stands.

Because UCLA continues to receive more applications for admission than we can accommodate, thousands of strong students were denied admission. Our decision is not a reflection of your potential to be a successful university student, nor is it meant to minimize your accomplishments. Rather, it is a reflection of the highly competitive admission process at UCLA.

If attending the University of California, Los Angeles remains your ambition, you should know that there are other opportunities for admission. UCLA also accepts applications from junior-level transfer students. To learn more about transferring to UCLA and how to optimize the transfer experience, please visit www.admission.ucla.edu/transfer or www.admission.ucla.edu/tap.

We wish you success in your academic endeavors.

Sincerely,

Gary A. Clark, Jr.
Director
Undergraduate Admission

@badmintongirl So sorry to hear that. May I ask if they sent you an email or did they just post the info on the portal. Also, when did you send in your appeal? Thanks for the info.

@badmintongirl what was your major ? :expressionless:

@razorgirl There was no email. I just decided to randomly check the UCLA portal this afternoon and saw the disappointing news  I submitted my appeal April 12/13… I don’t remember clearly but it was along one of those days.

@oxyloxy I put down Human Biology… which I now realize is a huge mistake considering its competitiveness compared to my GPA…
Here are some stats about myself in case you guys are curious.

GPA: 4.2
SAT: 1950 (not the best for UCLA  )
ECs: I thought they were pretty in depth and showed commitment but I guess not
Personal statement: Decent… not stellar but not ordinary

Feel free to ask me any questions

@badmintongirl thanks for the info and sorry again. i’m sure you’ll be very happy in the school you choose. Where are you going to go?

Anyone else hear back? Any acceptances or rejections. Mine has no changes so far only to say they received my appeal. Been searching on the board and for class of 2017 seems like they were sending rejections until mid-may.

I agree with @razorgirl , you’ll do excel anywhere @badminto , thank you for the information and keep your head up

@badmintongirl I’m sorry about the appeal. Did u send the appeal at the beginning or middle or end

@Questionscollege
I sent in my appeal the week of the deadline

Thank you for all the kind words everyone. I’m still pretty disappointed but it is UCLA so I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. I’n probably going to be attending UCI in the fall  hope you guys are lucky with your appeal

Got my appeal denied today. Such a tough university to get into!

Oh well, their loss…Georgia Tech it is!

@MakeOrBreak hey when did you submit the appeal?

Do you guys think they’re releasing the decisions in a pattern? Like denials them acceptances? I submitted mine before someone who got their decision…?

What was your major ? @MakeOrBreak

Anyone else hear back?
