When will classes be posted for Winter 2009?

I’ve been thinking of doing that experiment now. I’ll try it out with a squirrel.

PoorPluto, October 27.

What I want to know is HOW they found it out.

Was someone wrapping Christmas presents in the lab…in a vacuum or something?

Probably someone people do out of boredom. I’m also wondering when the schedules will be posted for winter quarter.

Pink, Why don’t you drop by their office and just ask them?

Chances are that they used the tape to hold something in place, like a cable, and then they accidentally or purposely pulled on it through a feedthrough, which caused it to pull on the tape. They were probably able to detect it immediately depending on what they used to monitor their experiment.

It could have been like a ‘W.T.F.?’ moment where they were trying to troubleshoot another problem, which it turned out to be caused by the production of x-rays.

October 27. Google it next time.

Mmm. That was kinda hot.

okay, for my math midterm grades… if almost everyone got As and Bs does that mean the professor will probably curve down, or leave it, or what?

thanks in advance

uuucla, it depends on the average… in any case, most professors only curve the final grades for the class. So he/she will most likely make the next exam(s) incredibly difficult to spread out the grades. At least that’s what I would do…

I’m assuming by As and Bs you mean 80s and 90s because they’re generally not the same thing in math classes here. ckings86 is right - professors will make later tests more difficult to force a distribution. I wouldn’t expect more than 25% of your class to end up with an A.

There are some policies that require you to “complete a term”. What does that mean? Is a term comprised of a certain amount of units?

What ever happened to Newton? :(

when is the last day to drop a class?

For Letters and Science undergraduates to DROP nonimpacted courses with transcript notation and per-course fee through URSA - November 14

For Letters and Science undergraduates to DROP nonimpacted courses by petition with instructor approval, per-course fee, and transcript notation - December 5

where could i get the best price for a fridge? or does anyone have one that is not in current use? mine broke down, i think. my milk got all clumpy and the fridge isn’t that cool… all i need is a small one.

Is it possible to change my financial aid from commuter to on campus for the winter and spring quarter?

dwm:

craigslist!!!

okay, what is my enrollment time based on? is it somewhat randomized?
because someone else with the same # of units is ahead of me by like 6 hours… not fair =(

Chill. It’s mostly random. First is priority (which is all random for everyone, I think.) Then, its first/second pass, and they are based on class standing (# of units) but have different levels, which are random. So, if you have second year standing, you’ll be assigned a time randomly during the time for second-years sign-up, and same goes for 3rd years and 4th years. If you have any 4th year friends you’ll notice they’ll probably have enrollment like 2 days before you…

within the window of time for your class standing (sophomore, for example), your appointment is assigned randomly.

who do I talk to about major changing? I really want to switch out of engineering major.
