UCLA Bar - for those questions that take less than 5 posts to answer...

^ horrible… but depends on what time of the day. Morning and and afternoons around 3pm and after is pretty bad. 405 is always traffic.

can anyone give me the link to check roommates?

ive been circling around the website for a while now and cant find it, thank you, you would be awesome if you did this…

It’s also in this topic: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/770316-ucla-housing-out-d.html</a></p>

Do we actually need to use the textbook for chem 14d, or will the thinkbook/lecture supplement be enough?

Is there a limit to how many units you can take for a summer session? Is a student allowed to enroll into classes for all the summer sessions?

You pay by the unit for summer session, you can enroll for the two sessions if you’d like, I’m not sure of unit cap though. Try googling the summer session website.

If I waive SHIP will I get to keep that extra money I save or will my estimated costs be re-adjusted and my financial aid lowered appropriately?

When’s the earliest move-in date? Is is Friday?

^ The earliest move in date is Friday for most people (sep. 18) but you can move in Thursday if you ‘apply’ (which might include an additional fee). I know someone moving in on the 14th. Idk how they do it though. I would imagine it would all include additional fees.

Is taking chem20B and chem20L the same term recommended (do most students take this route)? Do students tend to take chem30A and chem30AL concurrently as well? I’d just like to know what the usual thing to do is with these chem classes :)

thats move in assistants, they help decorate the halls, and help people with carts, directions and all that stuff (pretty long and horrible job actually)

@oyster
Don’t know if it applies to you, but this is recommended for chem majors:

If I’m interested in playing tennis at UCLA for fun and maybe to join the intramural sports for tennis, would I need to bring my own racquet and balls?

Most people do not take the labs concurrently.

For IM tennis you need your own racket, and either you or your opponent needs to bring their own balls. What’s happened with me is that both players bring a can of balls, one opens them, and the winner gets the new can, the loser gets the used balls.

what a shady way to gamble

how do u join IM tennis or Club Tennis? And what time do they meet?

The loser had to go buy a new can every time they wanted to play (and lost again)? What a waste.

People underestimate the life span of tennis balls. I can still get top spin on the ones I used for practice 3 years ago.

haha wow 3 years ago? i remember back in the day balls last a month or 2 tops for us… stopped playing tennis last year and want to pick it up again :(
