Lol, are there instruments inside or does the room just have good acoustics?

@dennysampler. you need to find the difference beween suites, plazas & halls. Do a search.

Speaking of practice rooms, is there a drum set anywhere on campus that one can practice on?

There is a piano in the instrument room right?

@Deuces, well i know what the res hall has, i’ve checked the basic descriptions but i havent seen any info on the benefits of each individual res hall.

example: i heard some of dykstra’s restrooms are really dirty

dykstra is the oldest, closest to campus, rooms are facing each other for better social experience, bathrooms seems to be the downpoint for dykstra as i heard it is not as nice and shower stalls are very small

sproul is the newest (newly renovated), in the center of “the hill” have a music and study rooms, even though it is newly renovated, the elevator tends to break down often and showers are kinda sucky (only 2 good stalls on the 7th floor last year)

hedrick is the furtherest away from campus, i don’t know much about it besides that it is a pretty closely knitted community (people don’t wander up there i guess), also a lot of 1st years because the 2nd and 3rd years tends to pick sproul and dykstra :)

if i rank the halls i would do sproul, dykstra then hedrick

Is there AC in Hedrick Hall?

Only plazas have a/c.

Adding on about Dykstra, the elevators also suck, too. And they smell badly. And they are down often (more so last Spring quarter). I was moving out on the last week and the elevators broke down right in the middle of it ): Apparently someone pressed the button for the elevator and a flame came out. Ended up carrying down my stuff w/ help down the flights of stairs. Sigh.

Is there any way to set up automatic housing payments every month?

I still didn’t get an answer to my question it seems.

Would it be to my advantage to apply to a position at the UCLA store now or a couple weeks before the quarter starts?

I’ve got some questions guys:

If we live in a room near the trash room, the smell won’t spread right?

and

the internet thing? Isn’t there a wireless network we can log into for free if we carry a laptop around campus?

and

to my understanding, there are ethernet ports in the room, so all we need are ethernet cables and thats it to use the internet right?

I thought the networks were free. You can basically get internet around campus except for inside the dorms.

Depends on how “near” you are haha

Yep

Yep

I was moving out on the last week and the elevators broke down right in the middle of it ): Apparently someone pressed the button for the elevator and a flame came out.

HAHHAHA that’s the best thing I’ve ever heard :)

Does anybody at UCLA go to LA nightclubs?
I asked questions about this stuff before, but no one gave serious answers.
How long does it take to get from campus to clubs and what transportation would you use?

thanks

if you buy used books from the bookstore, specifically chem 14A/B textbook, does it come with the whole package (solutions manual, model kit etc), like new textbooks, or do you have to buy the other stuff separately?

I lived in a room in de neve literally right next to the trash chute. I never experienced any problems with the smell. The door is kept closed, so it’s not a problem.

when are loans usually disbursed to ucla?

If we’re on financial aid, how does the housing payment work? Do we use the money left over from our BAR account to pay for housing? And, for housing, do we simply enter the amount of money we pay? And, how much are we supposed to pay (does someone have the link)?
