Hello I am a high school senior from Northern VA and really want to go to UCLA. My SAT score combined is just below a 1900 and I’ll be taking the subject tests this fall. I have a 4.1 weighted GPA and had straight As last year while taking all IB classes. I also got a 5 on an IB exam. I play volleyball and went to Governor’s School this past summer and I’m involved in many other activities such as NHS, French Honor Society, etc.
My mom studied for a year at UCLA and my aunt graduated from there. My entire family is from California and I would love to go to school there next year. So anyway… what do you think my chances are???

I’m from California and honestly it seems like UCLA will be somewhat of a low match / match school for you. I live in LA, and most of the top students from each of the schools in my school district get chosen. It is a competitive school and although your grades are high, youre best for would be trying for a UC.

Chance me back!

Your SAT score is on the low side for UCLA, but your GPA looks competitive. Are you willing to pay $55K/year to attend since you will not get any FA?

If you are full pay, would have a slightly better chance. Good Luck.

OP had a duplicate thread- see here <a href=“UCLA chances? WILL CHANCE BACK - State Forums - College Confidential Forums”>UCLA chances? WILL CHANCE BACK - State Forums - College Confidential Forums;

As I stated in your other thread, your SAT score wont cut it. The California kids, who have been accepted to UCLA, are usually above 2200 for UCLA. You have to know that close to 80K students apply to UCLA. They only pick the best. You will be full fee because you don’t currently have family here, paying taxes now. Full fees for at least two years depending on date-of-residence determination. It doesn’t automatically change to resident tuition when your family gets here; it starts after the university’s date-of-stay determination.
