I looked into it, and some people say that it is a supplement for borderline applicants. There is Talent or disability supplements that you have to complete, if you are seriously considering UCLA pay special attention to your supplement.
I saw a few people in the UCB thread who received a supplemental questionnaire, not so much for UCLA
I received a supplement from Berkeley and UCLA, both regarding the physical disability I wrote about in my second personal statement. Both wanted my fall semester grades, my spring classes, and Berkeley let me submit a letter of recommendation.
@imjennah The selectivity of your major is a big factor; the engineering admission stats shared at the fall counselors conference at UCLA are also displayed.
According to a friend who also applied, UCLA will start notifying us of decisions on the 15th. I don’t know where he got it from, though.
@seeniebeenie can you please ask where they heard that? march 15 is way earlier than anyone was expecting… omfg
I say the last week of March is most likely when descisions will be released
UC Santa Cruz is notifying the 15th, maybe they thought that to mean all UCs. UCB and UCLA are always the last of the UCs to post decisions.
@nat97xo Yeah, I was confused as to why he was saying that and he said that “UCLA” said it “on the Internet”.
I doubt that decisions will begin to be released on the 15th, but it’s best to be prepared just in case one of us gets a message on our portals. I think the 20th is probably our best bet.
To be honest, on their website it says Mid to late March.15th is essentially the start of that period.
@imjennah No, I got it for talent supposedly, but it was confusing since I didn’t really mention any talents in my personal statements.
I heard that UCLA is starting to release decisions tomorrow? A lot of people from my school have said that but it doesn’t seem right…
All we can do is wait. I know that we were all bracing for their decision on the 20th. However we should just wait it out and see. Its really scary without a declaration from the institution itself. I wish you all luck!
It would be even more scary with an exact declaration lol…all I can say is I dont feel it coming out for another three days at least
In the past UCLA and UCB announce a date and time for decisions a few days ahead. Who knows if they will do it the same, but in the last few years, it has worked that way. Would love to see it out on the 15th to reduce everyone’s stress, but that seems too early. Don’t want people setting expectations and making themselves sick with anticipation!
@CADREAMIN Didn’t UCLA receive a record number of applicants also? More than 112000 students applied. This might mean that it will take them awhile longer to go through the applications.
With the UCs getting more and more applications would it make them take longer and make them begin releasing in waves? Ugh, I cant stand this! Can I sleep and only be awakened by true choice’s kiss? tehee this stress is making me turn cheeky
By Mid January they would of sorted through the majority of the applications, I think by now they are just preparing to release descisions
Decisions go out on the 20th, according to their website:
“Decisions for most freshman applicants will be available in the evening of Friday, March 20, 2015.”
@Sasora Wow, when did that get updated?
