Loads of decisions this month
Do they send out likelies for computer science also? Or is it only for computer science and engineering?

@ihihihi I wouldn’t worry about that! I’m sure they understand that you speak English. Also, decisions come out on Friday so they probably already finished reading through applications anyways!

Likely letters only sent to 25% engineering admits. Engineering only (which includes CS). Getting one means you are in. They are holistic, so it isn’t top 25%, it means you have something they like, not necessarily the top scores. That is what admissions said at open house. The essay may have caught their attention. There are still many that will get in that did not receive the letter. They just try to get the attention of some applicants before the other UCs come out. The letters were later than usual, typically they come out two full weeks before decisions. Have been through this before and now, this is how it works.
Letters come out at all at once, they are done. Decisions the 20th as stated on the UCLA portal.

@ihihihi I don’t think they would cancel it! If anything, they might just think it was a bit odd, but it shouldn’t affect your chances. You’ll be fine!
And no, I’m not! I actually live in Southern California, not too far from UCLA
literally guys I’m so so so nervous after being waitlisted at SD. But my stats aren’t even that low? I mean they aren’t the greatest but with my essays and extracurriculars I actually really though I had a decent application.
@mlegoldstein I think most have noticed thay because UCs review holistically they have odd ways of making admissions descisions, UCSDs descision probably in no way reflects UCLAs descision
@imjennah no I know! I’m just saying like not getting into UCSD has me worried because UCLA is a much harder school to get in to.
@mlegoldstein I feel you. I’ve seen people getting rejected at Davis but accepted at UCSD and UCSB. It depends.
It really goes to show how effectively useless chance me threads are, at the end of the say no one knows what will happen.
@mlgoldstein - don’t let the waitlist at SD make you feel any less qualified, each UC is looking to construct a unique class, who knows what criteria each are using.
If I get into UCLA, I will not care what happens when the April 1 decisions (rejections lol ) for my other schools come out
