***UCLA CLASS OF 2019 APPLICANT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@Homeless2Harvard‌ @fizzy110‌ I applied to TFT for cinema studies…certainly not expecting an acceptance with their acceptance rate, but one can hope. I have been accepted to LMU’s School of Film and Television film and television production major which has a 6% acceptance rate, so there is a little hope!

Tomorrow is the DAY!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FTVDM major has only a 0.75% acceptance rate…yay.

@fizzy110‌ OMG really! (: are you half white? And what part of Nigeria are you mixed with?

@simranphadnis‌ it’s gonna be so crazy!

@FilmMaker1‌ I appreciate your bravery. I was fine applying to Tisch because I don’t LOVE the rest of NYU. I only want to be a student at Tisch. But at UCLA I simply couldn’t take the risk :frowning:

@MsDotsy‌ well my self confidence is going to take a bashing. I applied to a bunch of the ivys, which all release the same day… Back to back rejection letters, can’t wait. I’m hoping for a bit of good news…

Does anyone know if it’s possible to switch into engineering if you’re offered undeclared admission and how hard that would be to do?

I am going to be a wreck tmrw T.T

Good luck to everyone though!

What time do decisions come out?

@chocolateswag‌ someone on here said 3 pm or 5 pm pacific time. Honestly i’m not sure

It just says in the evening on the website.

Hi. I just found out that UCLA’s decisions come out tomorrow. (OOS) So I am freaking out a little bit. I applied as an economics major. However, I have not received any emails from UCLA regarding notifications, update, etc recently in the span of a month. That is why I am wondering whether or not this has to do with the result of my decision. Has anyone else received any kind of email from UCLA recently?? Thank you! And Good Luck to everyone!!!

@nat97xo‌ I applied to Tisch as well. Absolutely love it, but really dislike NYC…we’ll hear from them next week!! :open_mouth:

Dear friends,

Chance me questions are useful when choosing schools to apply to. Not for guessing results. Rest easy.

I’ve never visited UCLA and I’m OOS but I applied anyway. Can anyone compare it to a school? For example is it like NYU and BU where it is literally IN the city? Or is it more like UChicago and northeastern where it is a campus inside of the city? Can anyone shed light on this?

@ineversleep‌ The only “city” part of LA is downtown. The rest are all suburban neighborhoods, including Westwood.

Dorms are on campus…everything walk/bike close. Can walk to restaurants and such off campus as well. Of course weather is not really an issue, so makes getting around very easy.

Best of luck to everyone!! Just remember even if you don’t get into UCLA, you can always try again and transfer. Don’t give up on your dream school!

Anyone know how having an associates degree at the same time as I graduate from high school will look on my application? Will it compensate for a solid gpa (4.4 ish) but lower than average board scores (2030)? I’ve heard that it’s good but not that big of a deal.

@2015ucfan‌ Somebody will tell you for sure by around this time tomorrow.
