It’s the atmosphere of the school
@nat97xo i’ve seen that lol thank you. i was just wondering if anyone knows if its easier or harder from oos by personal experience?
@eo2019 i feel you! i havent slept well in days.
Does anyone know what time decisions will be coming out?
@eo2019 I’m half Nigerian!
Anyone know the time decisions are released tomorrow?
I’ve always been in love in UCLA. I have no idea why I thought of UCLA as my dream school back in the first grade, but through the years, I have realized the greatness of the school. The academics are world class, the sports and activities provide for passionate spirit, and the location itself is one of the most ideal spots for any of the thousands of growing industries in the world.
When I visited UCLA for the first time, I fell in love all over again. The atmosphere alone made me want to strive to become the best “me” that I could possibly be. I felt the dedication and spirit, and it made me want to have that same Bruin pride and drive. Being accepted would be a dream come true.
@simranphadnis haha, sorry! I’m OOS and from my experience + talks with a UCLA rep who visited my school, I think there are pros and cons to teach. In-state students face more competition (or at least a lower admission rate), but at the very least UCLA is very familiar with their schools and the culture promoted within them. If you’re OOS, it’s less likely that they know your school unless it’s very reputable/respected/known. I can’t really speak on stats because I have no idea.
UCLA was the first school I fell in love with. I felt so at home on the campus and it fit my idea of a quintessential college campus. Beyond that, it offers stellar programs in television/film and communications, my areas of interest. Ironically, I didn’t end up applying to TFT because I wanted to increase my odds of simply being accepted. It’s just a great school that offers anything you could possibly want- school spirit, prestige, amazing academics, great location, name recognition, etc. It truly encompasses everything I want in a school :x
Don’t worry about a presumed deity’s plan. You guys worked your butts off and something good will happen!
Lol I applied to TFT, hello rejection
Wow this thread is so much more popular than Berkeley’s lol
@Homeless2Harvard - sorry if I sound utterly clueless, but what’s TFT?
@fizzy110 UCLA’s school of Television, Film, and Theatre which just happens to have an acceptance rate around 4%
4% yikes! But hey, you never know! Rooting for you, and anyone else on here who applied!!
School of television admitted 5,8 % last year, it’s hardcore
Damn, wish you all the luck for that, 4% is badass.
@mlegoldstein I’m from LA but I’d rather stay at home for my first four years. UCLA and USC are both good schools (I’m in extremely close proximity to both).
Does anyone know anything about likely letters? I applied CSE, and didn’t get one. I’m kind of depressed now…
@CSGoddess I also applied for an engineering major, and did not get a likely letter
But don’t lose hope! We won’t know for sure until the official decision comes out tomorrow.
Also, they said they send out likely letters to the top 25% of the applicants, so the majority probably did not get one. Good luck to us!
