@ackack
Phew…That makes me feel better a bit…
Keep seeing posts, experiences and rumors that it is very rare to get into both so…
My D was accepted. OOS… From North Carolina pre psychology major
GPA 5.05 weighted 4.0 unweighted
Not sure how to figure UC GPA
SAT 2090
ACT 31
Exceptional ECs with leadership, awards, 3 time state champion
Her essays were good
Received alumni scholarship invitation
Received 10,000 per year Achievement Scholarship in financial aid package
Accepted OOS for pre business economics.
2140 SAT 1, 670 and 650 SAT 2’s
Top 8% of my class
I think the main reasons I was accepted were the strength of my essays and solid extracurriculars, 2 time state champion in tennis. Pumped!
I know a lot of ppl from my high school who got in UCSD were rej/wl by UCLA. Could there be a connection? (intl student here)
@fyxstkala UCLA is generally more selective than UCSD. Last year, UCLA’s acceptance rate was 18% and UCSD’s acceptance rate was 33%.
@fyxstkala
No, I would be surprised if that weren’t the case. UCLA is simply harder to get into with an acceptance rate of about 16 percent. San Diego on the other hand has an acceptance rate of over 30 percent, so naturally there will be many who get into the latter instead of the former.
Also, I got into both Ucsd and Ucla.
Thanks for the reply. It’s such a relief to know that these schools’ decision are made separately. (Still waiting for UCB decision…
Rejected last night.
3.97 UC GPA
1700 SAT
Undeclared Major
Received Supplemental Questions in February

And that some of the current freshmen of class of 2018 are in the group will answer any of you questions or inquiries that you might have in regards to life at UCLA, classes, greek life, workload, etc
Again - welcome to the fam ![]()
Is it just me or does the link not work?!
Thanks for letting us know though!
@vl0804 the asterix is a substitute for face book.
@vl0804 You have to copy and paste https://www.****/groups/632197086903158/ into the URL bar and replace the **** with facebook . com
As those who have taken statistics will know, a low acceptance rank doesn’t mean that it is harder to get into that university than one with a higher acceptance rate. It is the quality of applicants that matters.
OOS accepted to school of arts & architecture Design Media arts. Far lower stats than posted here. I think what helped me majorly is the fact that I’m an URM, I’ve been told my portfolio is quite good, numerous EC’s, all sorts of interesting summer activities, and pretty good essays. Ecstatic, I really wasn’t expecting this at all!
when can we expect acceptance packets in the mail?
@binatang
Probably sometime next week. I got mine from UCSD the week after my acceptance.
Accepted last night, out of state from Florida, but a native Angeleno. Feeling so blessed, favorite school growing up! Congrats to my fellow baby bruins, fight fight fight!!!
Lol, I accidentally posted in the USC thread last night instead of this one. I guess I got too excited! Accepted. 2110 sat and 3.7 gpa weighted. So grateful for the oppurtunity!!
Just wondering… My daughter is out of town and can not check her portal until tomorrow but I did she got an email from UCLA financial aid saying her aid was available to view and hope to see you at bruin day. Do you think this means she was admitted?
