i was waitlisted (4.6 weighted GPA, 1400 SAT, received invite to apply for alumni scholarship). when put on the waitlist, what are my chances of being placed into the admitted students pool?

Don’t think you are not a worthy candidate for admission if you got rejected or waitlisted, people. I know a student with no hooks (non-STEM major, NMF, great ECs, high gpa, lots of volunteer hours) who got into Harvard and every other school she applied to but got denied at UCLA. A lot of this is luck and depends on who reviews your application. UCLA was this student’s backup. lol I truly do believe that sometimes UCLA denies an applicant if they feel that the applicant is so highly qualified that they feel the applicant will not attend UCLA. I can’t prove it but that’s what I think.

I’ve been on CC for over a year now, reading about last year’s applicants, acceptances and rejection. I’ve been reading this years ED and EA acceptances and rejections. The whole process seems excruciating for many of you out there (and it was for my son). Having said that, I wish you all the very best. You students are very precious people, and I hope life treats you well in the future if it hasn’t this month.
WAITLISTED! I was expecting a flat out rejection since I got rejected from UCSD. To even be considered is literally so crazy.

Ok so…My friend got in…she didn’t report her Ws that she got in college courses. She received 2 Ws one in Econ…and the other in English…but she didn;t find it important to report the Ws becasue she was applying as a freshman and Ws are only important for transfer…Will she be rejected if UCLA sees her college transcript…though she is a freshman…
