@Caligirl24 Yes that’s correct.
hey before decisions start rolling in: when posting decisions and stats, can people include if they got the supplemental essay thing or not? thanks and good luck guys! no need to stress too much – there’s nothing you can do now so chill I know we’re all nervous but we’re in this together!
Does anyone know if decisions will be emailed? My son doesn’t know how to get on main ucla portal only the slide room portal for the film program—-or any idea if the admittance decision will be on the supplemental portal? Thanks!
SCU is Santa Clara. DS was accepted with 1/2 tuition scholarship. We are middle class so didn’t qualify for any financial aid. The cost of UC and SCU for us will be close. Which do u think he should consider for business ? Btw, he was requested to do the supplemental with UCLA. Last semester he got straight A and 4.5 gpa. Good sign??
GPA … 4.15 at time of application.
SAT… 1340
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Apparently I heard from other students in my school that UCLA made phone calls to our school counselors. Did they make phone calls to any of your high schools too?
@arewetherenow You will get an email sometime tomorrow tellling you that a portal update has been made. It will not have a decision. Your son should go to the Ucla undergrad admissions website and click the prospective student link to get to the portal. The app id and password should have been set up in late December. Decisions are posted there only. Good luck! If you need technical support call Ucla before 4pm as it’s very busy today.
@buzimom Congrats to your son on the SCU acceptance. The supplemental means your son was borderline and they decided they needed more information to make a decision. Best of luck!
Is it 5 PM west coast time?
@buzimom SERIOUSLY consider SCU if it truly is comparably priced. It’s location provides ample internship opportunities, and you cannot beat a private school college education compared to the hellish overcrowding at the UC’s. I say this as a Pepperdine alum who was given free tuition for coming from an underprivileged background.
Approximately 5.5 hours remain. The wait sucks even more in the European zone as I have nothing to do, but to wait D:
I am curious what major your son applied for.
Wow, 1/2 tuition scholarship. Good for your family!
Are you in-state or out-state?
Because with 1/2 tuition scholarship, you are still looking at $45K per year.
SCU is definitely better than UCSC for business.
@trains1234 All times are PST
Well I will keep my fingers crossed . Yes, those are my son’s stats but he wanted to get in on his own merit so I never saw the essays. Boy, I wish he didn’t love engineering so much. LOL
Where did UCLA say that they’re releasing decisions after 5 PM ?
@mgeronimo twitter
@mgeronimo It was on twitter from Ucla undergrad admissions. No need to speculate whether it’s true I can confirm it’s true
My daughter heard that the HS counselors had been told also. Seems like a rumor.
Do you know what UCLA told the counselors? @Aztecmama
