UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

Question. I got the supplemental questionnaire thing. I submitted my first semester grades (Equaled out to a 4.65 GPA), and my most important accomplishment which was getting my LLC for my business which helps gymnasts get recruited to compete in college.
So a) what does getting this supplemental mean? And b) do you think my response helped me and set me apart?

Thanks! Good luck to you all.

We are in-state. SCU vs UC would be a 10k difference. We can handle that. Most importantly is which is best for his major. SCU and UCSC he was admitted for Business. Hoping to get UCLA for business Econ and USC for business admin.
If he gets accepted to UCLA, USC and SCU, which is best?

@boxerluvr That’s really cool and unique! Supplements are typically sent to borderline students.

She said they knew that 19 kids from our HS had been accepted.
We are south OC.

@10s4life I also told them that I would want to be a part of their gymnastics team in some way as a way I would contribute to the school. So we’ll see. I got waitlisted by SCU which was a huge shock to me… 33 ACT/ 4.12 GPA UW. I had an okay freshman year, eh sophomore year, but straight As junior year and first semester senior year. So that totally made me lose hope for other schools.

@buzimom Between SCU and UCSC for business I would choose SCU. If he gets into USC vs UCLA def choose usc. Marshall is much better than Ucla biz Econ for business. Biz Econ at Ucla is Econ with some accounting classes.

@boxerluvr, what major did u apply at SCU? UCLA?

what major did he apply for? S has has 4.15 33 act and doing College calc. 3 (A). lots of EC’s and we haven’t heard a thing.

@buzimom As much as I loathe the Trojans, there is NO competing with their alum networking for business. That Trojan family thing is no joke.

@buzimom I applied for business at SCU, Econ at UCLA. USC is my first choice where I applied business admin. But with getting waitlisted for SCU I feel totally screwed for UCLA and USC. (I’m out of state).

UCLA phone called the counselors at my high school yesterday, telling them the students who were accepted and waitlisted at my high school. My counselors told us that they are record lows for our school this year.

Do second semester grades have an impact on admissions?

@Preciouswiley I’ve heard no - unless you drop a majority of your APs or fail classes. Getting a couple of Bs won’t kill you.

A couple of B’s shouldn’t impact your admit status. I don’t think we will have a repeat of the UCI fiasco.

Here is a clarification on the conditional admission contract:

  1. You must maintain a min of a 3.0 UW senior year. If your senior year performance drops significantly from what you had in your application then your admission may be revoked even if it is above a 3.0UW.

Basically you should still do what try a little

@boxerluvr, you seem to be on the same boat as my son, similar stats too. Don’t lose hope, he got waitlisted at SLO last week and was very disappointed too. I have a very good feeling about UCLA for both of you.

@10s4life what about UCLA vs SCU?

@CopperlineX2, Trojan Family is no joke, but I have to say College Confidential Family is amazing!

@buzimom UCLA has a strong background in sending grads to the consulting, sports, and entertainment industry. I would choose Ucla.

@buzimom Maybe we can start another family of people who were waitlisted by Cal Poly!

haha thanks, I realized I asked the wrong thing. I meant to ask if first semester senior grades can impact the decision. I got a 4.85 GPA last semester and was just wondering what kind of impact that would have. Still not expecting an admission but at least for the next 4 hours I can have a bit of hope :))

@Preciouswiley We’re you asked to submit them?
