Ouch. There is a .04 percent acceptance rate for my kid based on her school and race. This really puts things into perspective.
Admissions is race blind, that data wouldn’t factor in. Simply look at the overall number of kids admitted versus applied.
All of the admissions data for the UC’s is broken down by race. At the “admit by high school” data sheet and overall for each UC campus. Very easy to find.
On this chart it our school says 11 applied and the rest is blank…2 students currently Freshman there.
It is broken down by race but that data is not available to admissions officers making decisions and should not be factored in to any calculations of your child’s chance based on their school’s historical acceptances (I.e. Look at overall acceptance rate not the acceptance rate of a particular race at your school.
One might also wonder if there are differences between Northern CA and Southern CA, affecting how well students, on average, fit the culture and values of each UC campus.
Such differences might legitimately affect both admissions and yield.
They say in the footnote they don’t show admit data for schools with fewer than 3 acceptances
Any number 3 or lower they leave blank for some reason.
If there is a blank it means less than 3. Our school had one at UCLA. It’s blank. The fine print in prior years said the numbers are only for schools that had more than three applicants/admission/enrolled etc.
I’m sorry @jaiku, but Stanford is in Palo Alto and not in SF. A huge difference. And those of you in SoCal who think SF is in shambles oughta stop reading/listening to bad media and visit the city. Except for some blocks in the Tenderloin and some areas near Union Sq, SF continues to be a glorious and beautiful city with much to offer (and dare I say much more culture than Irvine.)
Good luck to all of you and your kids waiting for the UCs (including those who dream of going to UCSB or UCSD rather than “superior” UCI)

when is ucla coming out?
Don’t know how they get it , and nope it’s not supposed to be considered , but it’s all there . If they supposedly don’t even see gender , then how are those numbers broken down . All admissions at all schools see a lot more than they let on. Is what it is . We can’t worry about what we can’t control . Good luck with the rest of your schools .
good one.
Our major is written on ucla portal yet.
Last year, ucla eliminated major from portal.
Still see major. Perhaps they are doing stuff differently this year.
There is no confirmed date, but based on trends from previous years, it very likely is coming out 5 PM PST tomorrow, 3/15. UCSD also hinted that they are coming out very soon, and historically, they release the same day as UCLA.
Actually, if you do sign into your portal, they do say that they plan to release decisions mid-March. Who knows, maybe they wanted to give themselves extra time just in case and release early if they can.
SHH, you weren’t supposed to spoil the SF secret. We liked having it to ourselves.
