Troubles in trying to see what tuition will be and how to accept offer

My son wasn’t able to log into his my ucla account.
Is that the same thing he is already logged into to see his admission letter?
There is no mention of merit or cost or anything.
Does that come later?
Seems like the cost of attendance should be stated somewhere.
He looked at several UC applicant portals and not seeing anything about his cost of attendance. He is assuming there is no mention of merit or scholarship because he did not receive anything.
I’m assuming because there is not number at all, that we aren’t looking in the right place.
Is it blank everywhere bc nobody has this info yet?
Thank goodness we tried yesterday and not the day before it was due because I’m wondering if he needs a myucla login to accept offer or as he is already logged into his applicant page to see his admission status if that is all he needs.

Has he set up an account yet?

UCLA makes you register for a new account using the 9 digit assigned student ID.
From there you can access a preliminary FAN (financial aid notification) letter.

I think he has only the applicant portal set up
I think he has a my UCLA login from doing a summer session a few years ago
He doesn’t know the password and was not able to reset it.

If he is looking at his admission offer does that mean he is already logged in?
I think he may need to contact IT support, if I recall this happened with another university that he had already had an account with from a past summer program.

No. The applicant portal is not the same as admitted student account. That needs to be set up separately. Read the “Admitted Student To do List.”

Do you know the financial aid package is out and posted under MyUCLA? I checked UCB portal, they received our FAFSA with SAI.

I checked my son’s account and we have nothing listed. But that can be just us since our SAI is like 81k.

If the SAI is higher than the UCLA COA of $42K, that means we need pay off everything, correct? We are in state.

Yes. Unless you get Regent or Alum Scholarships which have non-need-based portions which AFAIK have not been announced.

My kid logged into their financial aid portal and saw a $1,500 Alumni Association award. They hadn’t received any other notification that they had been awarded one.

Congrats. If you have Alum Scholarship listed, you got it. I suspect email should be coming forth. I think 1500 is the min award, there may be more.

They hadn’t been checking regularly so I’m not sure when it first appeared.

When we attended Bruin day a financial aid officer said regents have been awarded. But I have not heard of anyone receiving one.

Bummer.

I guess I can see that. There are only 75 Regent Scholarships and they admitted like 11,000 students…

I also got an alumini scholarship on my award letter but I don’t see cal grant. I know my family qualifies. Does anybody have cal grant on their financial aid award letter?

I was wondering the same thing. What about the middle class scholarship? When will that be awarded?
