I agree that stating exactly why they sent the request would definitely help the students answer the prompts. UC Berkeley uses the LOR invites instead of the Supplemental questionnaire but again sometimes you do not know the reason for the LOR request.
Not all campuses will utilize the Supplemental.
I noticed that there was an email from UCLA about scholarship application . Is it a good or bad sign. My son may not be eligible scholarship … Any suggestions on what should we do … Please help. What is the significance of this email
The email means nothing when it comes to admissions. It is informational and he can apply to any scholarships if eligible.
Everyone is eligible to apply for the Freshman Alum Scholarship. It’s not need based and money ranges from $1500 to $5000 a year. And not based on grades either.
@Gumbymom when do you think UCLA’s invitation to apply to regents will come out? Also if your child got the request for a supplementary questionnaire can they still get the invitation to apply to reagents? My son got the supplement despite pretty decent stats, ecs, piqs. Thanks in advance!
Yes, applicants that received the supplemental questionnaire can also be eligible for Regents. No Regent invites went out last year. They were automatically awarded last year so not sure if they will send out invites or automatically award this year again.

No, UCLA like all the UC’s do not consider Legacy or if Family members have attended or are attending.
Or if they have a parent that works for UC. I work for the University of California and I can’t tell you how many times someone thinks that my kid (if accepted) will get some kind of tuition discount or that it somehow will help him with admissions.

My son got recruitment scholarship invitation. First it required to write scholarship application which almost resume. And one of question is " what colleges or universities did you apply not ucla" of course you should apply other schools. If it has same question like us, everyone wrote honestly?
Reader probably won’t care what schools you put down. So there is no reason to game the list.
