UCLA not telling everyone that those insta accounts weren’t telling the truth is so messed up. The LEAST they could have done was tell us they were lying. God forbid they just give us the damn day

Be careful what you wish for! This was UT Austin up to this year. Never saying when things would drop. And dropping bits and pieces over about 4 different drops so there was constant paranoia. This year - it’ll be different they said. We’ll let all EA people know by 1/15! And then they deferred/postponed 90% of those people for a month.

The one instagram post was just taken down, but the class of 29 instagram post and the ucla what’s bruin facebook post are still up.
The whole scenario reflects poorly on the students and the admissions office as well.

Totally unprofessional of Admissions Dept. to not pre-announce the actual decision release date at this point in the process.
Why would you expect them to clean up 3rd-party postings?

Thank you for your insights. It may well be that server issue could be the reason. But if the UCs can consider narrowing down a bit for their applicants by a 2 day window or something, that would be more friendly to their anticipated stakeholders. I am just saying. Not looking for heavy criticisms on my opinion.

I’ve alr had 5 desicions today, that’s plenty. 21st is Hopkins and UCLA, no issue.

At this point, the 21st is strongly expected, so that’s not helping the server volume issue. Random thought: if they wanted to avoid setting a date in order to avoid crashing the server, perhaps they might consider varying their release day of the week a bit, instead of always the third Friday in March, e.g., consider releasing not on a Friday. I imagine this would be obvious, but they always do it on a Friday.

Well, we always knew it was “supposed” to be the third Friday but I think we got excited that it might be yesterday.
