i mean i’d understand if it is and having few admits. but having zero 17 days after may 1st for in-state is crazy. even worse when considering that OOS pulled the same majors before the may 1st.

i’m an in state cognitive science major, should i give up hope?

i think we should all just take it as a soft rejection, if we get in great but we should get excited about the school we committed to! historically, last year the waitlist had an acceptance rate of 10% and the years before that were even lower! good luck everyone!!

The 15th at like 6am.

I have a bunch of AP’s and dual enrollment classes. Im reasonably confident i can shave off like 30 credits with what I have. Interestingly, I’m eligible for in state tuition for community so I plan on doing my GE’s there over the summer. I also have health insurance already and live nearby so I can commute/live on dorms (I’ll need to decide that still)

My parents are really stoked to send me to UCLA. As in like, willing to sell their jewelry and stuff. Im not nessisarily low income, but I’m not rich. Pretty solidly middle class I would say. I also have a lucrative personal job i plan on doing part time also. Overall I think I can reduce the debt or even completely eliminate it. And the prospect of a green card at some point (i can work with a TN visa here without the H1B caps) makes it worth it for me IMO. Im still deciding if I want to go here over SLO, though.

Thank you!! They are giving me until May 24!

guys when is the admissions wave for INTL ENG?

No one knows if and when there will be more admits except admissions. It is out of everyone’s hands so all anyone can do is move on.

Guys did anyone hear from L&S internationals? When will there be a wave? Or will there even be another one?

particularly stats and data sc

People have got off for stats and ds, but I am yet to hear of an international who has got off for it. L&S internationals have got off, but till now, only clubbed with Instate people in 2 waves, one on May 6th and one on May 17th. There have been other random pockets of acceptances for internationals, but those two have been the more solid “wave” like ones. All we can do now is wait, I’m waitlisted for that same major.

The UC system has emailed all waitlisted applicants who have accepted (off the waitlist) offer, to withdraw from any other previously accepted UC- campus. Reckon there will be some more movement as applicants withdraw from their previously accepted campuses.

Thanks for the hope.

To clarify your statement.

Applicants who have opt-ed into the waitlist (and are still on the waitlist) should NOT withdraw from the school at which they SIRed.

Applicants who were ADMITTED OFF THE UCLA waitlist and ACCEPTED should withdraw from the school at which they SIRed.

I heard an OOS got off a couple of days back

as per the previous years data, the major intl wave usually starts late may i.e. between 18th to 26th
so based on whatever offers that have been extended post may 1st, its safe to say that there hasn’t been any MAJOR intl wave right? it’s yet to come? like there hasn’t been any change in that pattern?
