Got it. I know there is no way of knowing but based off of trends from last year do you believe there could be more first year movement on WL?
No idea if there will be more Freshman admits but previous years have had some rare admits in late July/Early August.
Saw 3 admits this morning on reddit, cog science, applied math, 1 unknown major, still moving, but I think it is smaller chance now.
Thank you for the information. I saw those posts also.
Rejected from waitlist on 7/11, no email notification received, just found it on portal. It seems there are some still on waitlist.
Thank you for the update. Yes, it seems to be the trend for the UC waitlists to keep some students on the waitlist in case of summer melt so they can fill those spots if needed. This is very difficult and frustrating so I feel these students not knowing their status this late into the process.
Daughter committed to UCSD and plans to apply transfer on 11/30, finished 3 major prerequisites this summer, will finish the rest by Spring. With the AP credits, she should meet the 90 credits requirement for transfer 1 year. Sigh, this year the kids are so difficult to get in their dream school.
Best of luck to her in the Transfer process.
I’m a first year who appealed back in April, but it seems most people heard back in May. Is it a good sign that it’s taking longer? I’m aware the odds are like 0, but I haven’t found anyone else still waiting (out of first years at least). I called admissions yesterday and once before and they just said it’s in review but assured me it wasn’t kicking around or anything and it was taking longer due to it being a case by case basis. I know I shouldn’t be even thinking about it but still. Any hope here? @Gumbymom
As UCLA stated, it is on a case by case basis and reviews can take long depending upon your appeal basis and your documentation. There is always a chance until you get a denial but historically appeal odds are not good.
2025: Appeals submitted: 1924. Appeals approved: 2
2024: Appeals submitted: 1962 Appeals approved: 5
2023: Appeal submitted: 1587. Appeals approved: 1
I am sure you have enrolled else where so all you can do is to try to move forward with your current choice until you hear back.
