@wkdalswjd - Go to UMich. UNC is a great school, but UMich is up there with Cal, UCLA, and UVA re public ivies. If money is not a factor, if you get into Cornell, NW, or USC, gotta consider those as well. UMich is outstanding.

I was rejected from pretty much everywhere two years ago. I decided to go to a UC for the social experience and I am so glad I did, but I felt like what screwed me over in HS was not setting goals, so I promised myself I would use getting into LA as motivation for getting good grades. Luckily that has paid off massively. If you didn’t get in I’m truly sorry, I hope you can find a new goal like I did and be successful!!!

@ JCMaxwell - I would REALLY consider the offer from Univ. of Illinois. That’s the flagship campus. The differential in debt between UCLA (you’ll owe about $80,000 when you graduate) and Illinois (you’ll owe only $10,000) is huge, particularly if you are considering grad school. Think about it.
Anyone have any guess as to if having dropped this CAD course may change my offer of admission or not?

PIQs: I believe mine were all quite strong, I started them very early, leaving a lot of time to go back and improve. I really enjoy writing, so this was a fun process for me but I understand writing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I wrote in narrative-style rather than listing accomplishments. I brought up specific things that made me unique/showcased intellectual vitality, and expanded on them.
I was worried for a bit because Communication Studies is a very impacted major, but I’m so glad to go to my dream school!
