@matrixxd - UC Merced is a nice campus, near Yosemite. Great for hiking, fishing, skiing. I had a couple of young relatives attend. Admin really supportive.

Congratulations to all who got admitted and even those who are waitlisted! Unfortunately, I got rejected by UCLA which is my first choice and I am still pending for UCI, which is my second choice (expecting to get rejected at this point). It honestly sucks but I should still be grateful that I got into UCSB for pre-econ. My GPA is 3.79 so I guess I expected this outcome but seeing the actual decision is still hard.

Sucks that CS is so damn competitive nowadays.
A 3.85 at a UC was so hard to achieve and still resulted in a rejection.
Just checked my award letter. UCLA offered me about $25.2k out of the $64.4k comprehensive cost (including tuition, housing, fees, etc.). With that, UCLA has probably skyrocketed to the top of my preference list due to my love of super-urban areas and its proximity to many prestigious Aerospace organizations in the L.A. area, even though I got into UIUC (who offered me financial aid covering all but $5k per year) and GATech which are both ranked in the top 10 on the Aerospace rankings.
Although, I had to report having dropped an Engineering CAD course. This course just entailed drawing drawings in the AutoCad software which wasn’t really that much like engineering, it doesn’t transfer to any college of engineering that I know of, and it only brought my courseload down from 25 to 22 credit hours for the Spring 2019 semester, so I hope it doesn’t change anything, but I’ll wait and see.
