UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@JCMaxwell I am a cc English prof. Tell your professor what is up and I am sure he/she will want you to prioritize Bruin Day.

ACCEPTED BOYZZZZ!!!

From a ccc
Major: Pre-Economics.
GPA: 4.00
UCLA Regents: Received email to apply
Prereqs: Done
IGETC: Done
TAP: No
EC: Some decent stuff maybe. Its mostly some random stuff, nothing eye popping IMO
Essays: Strong for sure. Had them edited and re-edited by others who are good at this kind of stuff.

Accepted: UCLA, UCI, UCSB
Denied: UCB. (■■■■■■ Haas man lol)
Waiting on: USC

I got in last year but could not attend due to family circumstances so this kind of was expected. But you can never be too sure with these top institutions. But I am so happy to be accepted again. Hopefully, I see some of you at Bruin Day. This is such a relief tbh, especially after getting denied at HAAS. Good luck to everyone that also got in. You deserve it. And to those that didn’t get in, don’t put your head down for even a second. You guys are still top-notch students and you should be proud that you even had the guts to apply to such an institution. I’m sure you guys will succeed at whatever college you decide to go to. Best of luck to everyone. This thread has been amazing. I love all yall lol.

@JCMaxwell thanks! I just added UCLA. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and I didn’t miss out on an opportunity for funding!

CONGRATS to all those who got in! Welcome to the Transfer FAM! Brace yourselves! Cause the quarter system will hit you like a big yellow school bus!

@ARousseau No?

Hello! This is my first time posting here, but I’ve been a long time lurker.

I was accepted as an English major, and here are my stats for future reference:
GPA: 3.87
Prerequisites: completed
IGETC: still finishing up one lab for the Science requirement

@willowstil thank youuuuuuuuuu. and congratsss. also we are from the same college:)

Admitted!!!

Pre-math major

GPA: 3.79*
Prereqs completed. Did all classes except for 1 major prep class

*I went to UCSC after high school for 1 quarter and got a 2.0 GPA which brings down my GPA. I have a 4.0 GPA not counting them.

Hi guys! I’m an international student. I got admitted and now I’m confusing about the admission contract. They say I would have to maintain my GPA, what do they mean? So if my GPA after the spring quarter dropped 0.3 compared to the grades on my application (which include grade of fall 2018), will they withdraw my admission?

I also have a question about this.
If I applied with a 4.0 GPA across 59 graded credit hours but I get a B in 1 or 2 courses out of 7 this semester (rest A’s) would my admission be revoked?

Ya I was confused what they meant by that too so I’m gonna call tmrw just to make sure. But I think it means to not let your GPA drop too much??? Like basically pass your classes lmao bc I think it would be absolute bs if they meant any drop in your gpa will get you rescinded. Like that’s almost impossible to do and is very likely that most will have gpas that are diff than whats on our application,

Also, I updated the TAU before the priority deadline which was Jan 31 but then, I made some update in February, do you guys think they did consider the change I made? I’m confused cuz I don’t know I got admitted because of the TAU I made in Jan or the one in February.

My letter explicitly states that I need to finish my Spring courses (they listed them) with a 3.5 or higher.

where did you guys find out the amount of your financial aids? there is nothing on my account and I already put ucla on my fafsa

from CCC
Major: Communication Studies
GPA: 3.63
Prereqs: 4
IGETC:Completed
TAP: yes
EC: interned at a film studio that does 13 Reasons Why, managed social media for company, athlete, and hosted a few local televised segments.
Awards: mainly academic honors and broke an athletic record at my ccc.

I wasn’t confident about ucla to begin with since my gpa was on the low side especially for such an impacted major. Is it worth appealing my rejection?

Is anybody else having trouble putting their code into myUCLA. the problem is, I have an account but its not linked to my UCLA ID number that was included in my acceptance letter. SOS

@uyenvo2526 my látest update is 03/25 and it was in my academic report showing on UCLA admission. So I think they got all updates before the TAU closed after March.

@uyenvo2526 If you go to the section that says report changes you can see what classes they have down for you. I actually changed my classes for spring quarter after the TAU closed and I did it like early April ish and they actually have all those changes in my class list. So I would check that section to see what classes they went of off.

oh never mind found it
