Hi, I was assigned to a deluxe triple and looking to switch into a plaza triple with private bathroom. Let me know if you wanna switch
I got assigned a plaze triple and would love to trade for your deluxe triple.
@bigsam you got plaza triple with private or shared bath? forgot to mention, I’m a female
I have a plaza triple in Rieber Vista. In dyer need of a single. I have sleep walking issues and I’m so stressed/embarrassed to have a roommate and have that happen. If anyone has a single or knows anyone with one please DM me!
@fattykirby I might be interested in the deluxe! I have plaza triple in rv
@collegeapp46382 I’m sure it’s fine but ALWAYS get permission first. Never take an unapproved chance.
@Ohm888 Are you saying I should email them? Their contract states that you must notify them of any withdrawals for courses listed on the application. I called them and they said that it would be okay to withdraw, and that it wouldn’t affect me since I’ve completed all of my requirements.
^^^ okay, that’s all I was saying. Get permission. ?
I got a plaza triple in Rieber Terrace. Did anyone get a De Neve Deluxe triple (with the transfer experience) that would be willing to trade?
If we are submitting a housing CAR, do we have to still pay the initial payment on our original offer?
Do we get opportunity to change major?
got off the waitlist for biz econ! feeling a little lost being accepted so late in the game. is there a chatroom or fb group for ucla biz econ majors?
Congratulations on the acceptance @jjang25 ! I believe there is a Facebook group for UCLA business economics majors.
@MoonKnight don’t know why i couldn’t find it before, thanks!!
I feel like I should post this for future language major applicants who may read this thread. Earlier in the thread there was some confusion about language requirements. If you are transferring as a language major, high school courses do not count. At Bruin Day, I received a flier that has all the information for Spanish majors and it lists “High school language courses do not apply”. So ,unless you attended a high school in France, Spain, or a foreign country, or if you have AP scores, those high school language credits will not count.
You must take the language courses at your community college. Once again, this information is specifically for language majors, not IGETC requirements.
Although, in theory, you can start at a higher level, as language is a validation subject, meaning any earlier language level is assumed known if you take a higher level and pass. So going into second or third year language at a CCC, based on language level from hs, should suffice. Otherwise it kind of doesn’t make sense, right?
College level 2 validates college level 1, and college level 3 validates college level 2. See link, page 19:

This sample French major language placement for Berkeley seems to say the same thing. You don’t necessarily start at French 1 if you have a certain level of hs language under your belt.

Yes you can start at a higher level language course. I took 4 years of spanish in high school and then jumped ahead to Intermediate Spanish rather than Elementary Spanish at my community college.
As long as you take 1 year of a language course at your community college, regardless of level , it will suffice.
^^^ not necessarily, unless they are accelerated language courses, meaning one semester = a year. Many college language courses are two semesters = one year. A language major may have a higher req over one college year. Each major has its own rules.
