I wrote an essay on why I should go to UCLA. I mentioned why UCLA is the best school for me, what I can contribute to UCLA, etc.
@TatianaF, I am including the weekends. I figure that they “rank” the waitlist but I’ve heard that they don’t. How else are they going to determine who to accept? Maybe a “random drawing” via computer?
And I’m guessing an automated system would be used as I highly doubt the admissions officials would be willing to give up their summers to manually input information every 3 days. Granted they can hire a student worker but still seems like a lot of unnecessary work.
@TatianaF a few people heard back today but still it’s just trickling in. I suspect a huge flood of decisions will be released next week as that would fall in line with the June 15th that seems to be the “decision date” from previous years.
I can only wait until the 15th for UCLA’s decision bc my housing deadline is on the 17th for UCI, so I am on a time crunch ??

@TatianaF Sociology and thank you!! But it’s just the idea of me not being suited enough for UCLA and it’s environment haha. I’m between UCI (for psychological sciences) and UCLA rn and I feel like I’d be able to put myself out there more and prob get a higher GPA at UCI than compared to UCLA.
@jjmnxi I understand totally, I have heard that UCLA is much more rigorous that UCI, and that’s probably the case with majority of majors. I think it comes down to what you are comfortable with. I really do like the pace Irvine has and in terms of prestige it’s staring to rival UCLA. It’s something we all are thinking about on this thread. In my opinion, definitely think about it, both schools will give you world class education but with different environments.
