UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Waitlist thread

@cdot1009 Congratulations on the acceptance!

Got off the waitlist mathecon
GPA:3.89
California resident
Any international student got off the waitlist yet?
IGETC done
It seemed like they released the decisions for major related to Econ yesterday and today.

Do they post anything on the weekend?

Are there any UC to UC transfers with bio major who got off the waitlist?

I am an international student and just got off 2 days ago with pre-econ. Wonder how to deal with the housing since it is so late :frowning:

@whateveritcost I called the housing office and they said that as long as you’re a transfer, you get the first year of guaranteed housing regardless. The only thing is that you will be at a disadvantage when it comes to your housing preferences, since the initial round of offers already went out. I called because I had the same concern as you, as I was admitted really late from the waitlist too. I really want to live on campus (even though I’m in the LA area already). It would be nice to avoid that kind of traffic. Just submit the housing application and pay the $30 fee.

Hey guys! I’ve been lurking here since decisions came out but I decided to make an account to say I got accepted today at around 8:30!!
Political Science transfer from a cal state
GPA: 3.6
norcal resident
Accepted: UCSB UCLA
I didnt write a letter or anything in my waitlist decision
Good luck you guys, don’t give up hope.

Congratulations @ucboundgirl007

Like many others, I also had been lurking in the forum for a while. I received my offer of admission this morning (email came at 820am) off of the wait list. I had already put in my SIR to UCSB, and I did not expect this news to come. Now I have to make a decision, but I suppose it is a good problem to have. Still cannot believe it, wow.

@SomebodyPinchMe What is you major for UCLA and SB, as well as your stats?

@nani9768
Admitted into Pre-soc. for both UCSB and UCLA.
GPA is 3.6.
I’m in-state, transferring from community college. Full IGETC.

Admitted into Applied Math. 3.87
International student. Wrote a paragraph in optional essay

Does anyone know the deadline for transcript and other stuffs? Is this still July 1? We have to accept the offer before sending the transcript right? But the deadline for SIR is July 4. If the transcript due July 1, it doesn’t make sense to me.

@johnbcuong Don’t worry. They know that you were admitted late, as was I, and so the standard deadlines don’t apply to us. Just send it in ASAP. I went in on Thursday to order mine via regular service, not even paying extra for rush service. I know it will come in soon enough, especially since I’m in the LA area already.

@jjang25 !! Congrats! Are you planning to attend UCLA or stick with UCI?

Did anyone in biochem hear back?

Nope

@jjmnxi honestly, when I got the news I reacted first without thinking. I literally went to campus and dropped all my summer classes (5 courses) at uci, got my parking permit refunded and returned all of my books. and then i realized how much i fell in love with UCI campus and the people in my classes. also with UCLA being pre-biz econ, my major is not really guaranteed. ultimately it will depend on how my grades are for econ 11/101. i am starting to wonder if i made the right choice since business admin is more of what i wanted to study. but from what i hear, for IB, UCLA is the way to go…
if i remember, you were choosing between UCI and LA as well?

@jjang25 yes I was! I’m literally on the same boat as you. I was set on UCI and loved my major (psychological sciences) and planned out professors to take and whatnot, but after getting off the waitlist for LA I did the same thing; I submitted and SIR and signed up for their orientation, etc. BUT idk i’m wondering the same and I feel like I’m genuinely leaning more and more towards UCI because it has a lot of things I want to do (join/attend Crosslife church, join a dance group because I hear it’s great there, etc.) and I feel like overall opportunities would be easier to access rather than at UCLA. I could be wrong though about that part BUT regardless my advising is tomorrow for UCI. :’) Also, UCI is a lot more affordable for me!

@jjmnxi yes, during my orientation there, they provided us a tour and literally went past a dance club having a sesh in the open. it was pretty awesome haha. i haven’t been to ucla yet but i feel like the student life quality at UCI seems hard to beat. but i find comfort that we can’t go wrong with either choice.
so does this mean you have submitted SIR to both and waiting to drop one? or are you committing to UCI?
