UCLA Film Major with Concentration in Animation?

Hey.

I’m a sophomore in college, and I’m considering transferring to UCLA to study animation. I understand that the only comprehensive animation program that UCLA offers is meant for graduate students, but I also heard that film majors can choose to have a concentration in animation for their last two years of undergrad.

If you know anything about the undergrad animation program, would you mind letting me know…

  1. if it’s worth transferring for?
  2. are the professors helpful/knowledgeable?
  3. does the program equip you with the skills and connections necessary to get a job in the industry?
  4. does the undergraduate program offer good 2D animation courses?

Thanks for the help!

Actually, it’s an undergraduate FILM program, with a few courses in animation. If that’s what you are looking for, it’s worth the transfer (assuming you can finish in six quarters as stipulated, have completed the necessary coursework prior to the transfer, and can make up the remaining requirements in third or fourth year. Also assuming that you can afford the tuition, if you are OOS).
