Connections?
Cheap housing?
Crazy parties?</p>
<p>What are the benefits and drawbacks of joining a frat at UCLA. What are my options?</p>
<p>Maybe I will join a frat.</p>
<p>Benefits:
-Make friends instantaneously, therefore fulfilling the belongingness need in the Maslow’s hierarchy.
-Greater chance of holding an elective position in some kind of organization (cuz you are more likely to be popular)</p>
<p>Drawbacks:
-Hazing (during the period of pledgeship)
-Crappy beddings
-Too much party every weekend (though this could be a positive factor for some people)</p>
