Hello,

Can someone give me more information on the honors program and what are the requirements and benefits for being in that program?

Thanks…

For requirements you can look here: [Admission to College Honors](http://honors.ucla.edu/freshman.html)

That also takes you straight to their website.

One thing I don’t understand:

The website says that if students have a minimum 4.1 weighted GPA and a minimum SAT score of 2080, they qualify for the College Honors Program. However, the actual application says you MUST send in proof saying that you graduated within the top 3% of your school. Which one is it?

Coral:

I recently researched this issue on the UCLA honors programwebsight, and I believe the rule is 2080 sat/4.1 weighted gpa

OR

top 3% of the class

But that is just a hazy recollection, so you should verify.

Floridadad55 sounds correct on this.
The only benefit is that you get a little notation on your transcript when you graduate, saying you were in the Honors Program. Not many people jump for that.

My D is top 1% of her class and 33 ACT and has a 4.7 GPA but she gets nothing at UCLA…

^^What do you mean “she gets nothing”?

You still have to formally apply, those requirements listed by Florida dad are just that, requirements. If you meet them, you are in simply by filling out the app.
