I’m looking into the humanities residential college for next year, and I was wondering if anyone is doing it this year or knows anything about it. Apparently it’s going to be in Hedrick, which is mostly first years, but I’m hoping there will be more upperclassmen in the program…

I’ve never heard about any residential colleges or grouped dorms at ucla. I know there are a few themes floors you can request to be on but don’t recall anything humanities specific in the housing app. Where did you hear about it?

Actually, it was listed on the housing app as a themed community.
I did manage to find some more info on it here: https://www.orl.ucla.edu/humanities

Hmm I guess that’s pretty new but I’ve never heard of anyone living in that community before. One thing is for sure, Hedrick Hall is WAYY better for freshmen than Hitch in terms of how easy it is to meet people and getting the freshman experience.

I’m a prospective freshman and I’m planning to apply for the hrc and I think it looks really interesting. I haven’t found anything on UCLA’s website about the underclassmen to upperclassmen ratio, but I did find another site which talks a little more about the program:

[Undergraduate Education Initiatives (UEI) » HRC](http://www.uei.ucla.edu/hrc.htm)

I’m assuming that most students in the program are humanities majors. (I’m actually an engineering major, so it would be an interesting experience for me.) Also on the above site there’s contact information to email the program administrators.
