UCLA Nursing

So I just got waitlisted to UCLA Nursing. Anyone know if it’s possible to know if the decision before May 1st? And also if it really is true that only the first 10-15 get in ?

I’m pretty sure all waitlisted people find out after May 1st, but I’m not positive. I’m not sure where you heard about 10 to 15 people, but I looked on the UCLA nursing website and it said that they accept 35 a year out of the 1800 who apply (which is 1.9%). It also seems like they would admit more than 35 in anticipation of people not accepting. They may accept the 35 and then admit from the waitlist for anyone who doesn’t accept, though. I’m not sure, but those are my thoughts!

Why not call them and ask? [Contact Us | UCLA School of Nursing](http://nursing.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=197)

BTW showing interest never hurts, who knows how they decide to take people off the waitlist…

Out of curiousity, what is the hurry about knowing before May 1st? The way waitlists generally work is you accept a place in a college that has offered admission. Then if you get off the waitlist sometime later you call the 1st college to say you’re not coming and forfeit the deposit.

@Treadmill hmm okay, I totally thought it was 40 freshman they accept. And I read in an askmssun blog that the real acceptance rate is 7% as they accepted 50 out of 700 applicants because some people forget to fill out the supplemental application, therefore making them automatically rejected.

Thank you for the insight though!

@mikemac I guess my only rush is paying that $100 to another school and then maybe later finding out that I am (I’m dreaming for this) accepted, I just lost $100 to the other school. I mean maybe it doesn’t seem much to others but that is a lot of money.

Thank you though, I will contact them!

@winterprincess How did you find out that you got waitlisted into the School of Nursing at UCLA? Did the School of Nursing email you or did you just find out through the UCLA admissions portal? Btw, did you end up getting admitted in the end?
