I’m a business econ major and my counselor said that they will guarantee you econ 11 and 41 since you basically need it to graduate. In fact the only way to get into those classes is for them to call and have you manually added in. Not sure for the other departments.

I’m a CS major attended 203 and can only enroll in 2 classes with 1 in waiting list. The others I need to email the departments to get in (no respond from them 'till now though).

Anw, how can we know the email of our orientation counselor and academic advisor?

Hey everyone, I just had a quick question for people who have just finished up orientation. I wondering how much of the orientation you have to go to? I’m actually taking Summer Session C and the only orientation day I could sign up for was on a day I have class.

I don’t want to skip a full day of classes but I don’t want to miss the important parts of orientation (like meeting with the counselors). I was figured I’d go to as much stuff as I can then go to class and if possible leave early so that I could go to the rest of the orientation stuff.

My classes are are from 10:00 to 11:50, and then from 1:00 to 2:50 (I was hoping to probably leave 20 minutes early from each class, so like 10 to 11:30 & 1 to 2:30).

Given these time frames do you all think I’ll miss anything drastically important?

You will be missing out on meeting with your peer counselor and receiving your DPR, then you will have lunch from 12:00 PM - 1 PM, then you will be missing out on meeting with your departmental advisor.

I read somewhere on here that we’re supposed to receive an e-mail from our counselor a few days before orientation. Mine is on Friday and I haven’t received anything…anybody know anything about this?

@ciaokarol Well it’s only Tuesday. You still have until tomorrow to receive it. They literally sent mine two days before

When I went to orientation and by the end of it all, I was still in the dark about three of my CCC classes being able to transfer or not. Both counselors basically had no clue in regards to the issue and I hate being in the dark about all of this. Does anyone know of any alternate academic advisement counselors I can speak to over the phone? I also want to minor in Anthropology and never got a definite answer regarding that either. Should I just email the Anthro department?

^
You should email the general Anthropology email, it will get directed (if needed).

I’ll see you guys at Orientation!

math majors:

they are keeping 115A open for you, but your other two classes will have to be electives.

I got Econ 101 so there’s hope for you econ/biz-econ dudes.

Does anyone know how i can check what classes are offered and how full they are? I’m kinda new to myucla website so i don’t know how to navigate around it much.

What if i want to switch my major (cuz i don’t want the one i chose anymore) but haven’t decided the new major either? Plus i heard that the UCs are putting restrictions on the big majors, like you have to sign up for it when you applied to the school and switching out may mean never being admitted back in again (due to competition) Is that true?

[Schedule of Classes Home Page](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/schedulehome.aspx)

sunlvkissed you can log-in to the Myucla then click on “Enrollment - URSA” ( its one of the links on the side). then like on “find a class to enroll in”, its under academics. Its pretty self explanatory form there.

I’m not sure if they will let you change your major especially if you don’t have anything in mind.

I’m a psych major and my counselor said that psych classes I took at my cc are not equal to the upper division courses offered at UCLA. So they will not me used toward the major.

Thank you guys!

This scheduling stuff’s so confusing. So many requirements, hard to keep track of.
What do you usually consider when choosing a class? For me it’s level of interest and ability to handle.

definitely the same. by the way i was the one person from UC Merced in the psych transfer room in session 204, incase any of you were there

wow there are so many psych majors!
