In additional requirements for the scholarship it mentions,“Please be sure your full name and last four digits of your social security number are written at the top of each page.” What pages do they mean? Secondly, what time is the submission due? Thanks to anyone out their who can provide some help!

The only time indicated is March 31st. Since it’s online submission, I imagine anytime before midnight would be good. But just to be safe, maybe you should go for 5 PM or something earlier.

I’m guessing they mean the transcript and the letter of rec. In my CC, they put the name and social on top of the trans as a matter of course, and I asked my professor to add the info in her letter.

thanks for the reply. I did not tell my professor to add that info at the top of his letter… I don’t want to ask him to resend if i don’t have to… Does anybody see any other options?

You might want to ask him if he can give you a copy of the letter. Then you can add the info and then fax it over to the number Regents provided. Or if he’s not comfortable giving you the letter, maybe he can fax it for you. At least he doesn’t have to snail mail.

I just mailed out my official transcript today. Will it be okay as long as its post marked before the 31st? Or does it need to be there by the 31st?

When I called the Regent scholarship awards office, I was told to send in my transcripts early as it usually takes a longer amount of time to make its way through the UCLA mail system; or as she put it, ‘UCLA is like sending mail through an entirely new city.’

I am not entirely sure if that means it has to be there by March 31st, or if it is permissible for the transcripts to be postmarked by the 31st.

I would suggest calling for clarification.

how important is the 300 word essay. I mean does it make or break your chances.

Also, does being offered to compete for a UCLA regents mean you’re admitted to UCLA

I am assuming the essay is extremely important; from what I’ve heard, once you have been selected to compete, your GPA and other pluses which initially earned you an invite are not looked at --only the information (letter of rec, and essay) provided.

And yes, if you received an invite, you have been conditionally accepted at UCLA.
