I just got accepted to UCLA and am worried about getting rescinded. I received two Cs my first semester of senior year. I had poor attendance due to ongoing health issues which resulted in me missing several days of schools sometimes even weeks at a time. This semester I am much better and should be able to attend school full time and end with all As and maybe a B. Should I be worried about getting rescinded?
I wouldn’t worry about it unless you receive a “D”, but your guidance counselor should document the issue when your final grades are submitted.
I’m paging @Gumbymom who may suggest contact with your “admissions rep.
Good luck! And Congratulations!
No, UCLA will not rescind for 2 C’s your first semester. They just want to be notified if you received 2 C’s and they want an explanation. You have a valid reason so this should not be an issue at all. As long as you get nothing lower than a C, you will be fine.
I read the contract and it says to maintain a B average for senior year. But I guess they will understand if there are special circumstances.
Should OP send the notification and explanation now, since this happened first semester? Should they ask their counselor to also send a brief note about the health issues?
If you are planning to enroll, part of your conditions of admission should state if you have received 2 or more C’s, what you need to do to maintain your acceptance. Submitting documentation or having your counselor address your health issues will definitely help with the explanation and better to notify UCLA now.
