Hi, So I’m trying to transfer to UCLA engineering from a community college, and recently saw that apparently “All major prerequisites must be taken for a letter grade”, and am wondering if I can use my 5 on my AP Calc BC exam to fulfill the requirements for Calc 1 and Calc 2 (which are major prerequisites) to skip over to take Calc 3 or would I have to take Calc 1 and 2 again? Any comments are appreciated. much love <3
@HopefulBruin569 Yes, you can use a 5 on the BC Calc exam to satisfy Calc 1 & 2.
@HopefulBruin569 @alicantekid not sure about that:

@Ohm888 @HopefulBruin569 I am 100000% sure about it.
The reason it’s written like that is that Engineering does not FORCE you to use a 5 on the BC to skip Calc 2. By giving you Math 31A credit, that means that you cannot repeat it at UCLA. But the way it’s set up, you can use a 5 on the BC to skip Math 31B, but you don’t have to. This allows people who maybe took the AP exam in 11th grade to be able to brush up on math rather than skipping right to multivariable. The link you’re looking at pertains more to incoming freshmen that transfers.
@Ohm888 echoing what @alicantekid said he is 10000000% correct.
Ok, thanks. I have reason to trust your judgment.
Anyone Aerospace engineering majors? Im planning on transferring, and will complete all major courses(according to assist.org), by my 2020 spring semester. How was your academic records looking?
