I will come to ULCA in July as a summer intern. Yet, I have no idea about how I can prepare for this. In fact, I knew little about the research field of the lab which I will work in. I have sent emails to the professor, however, no reply. so I am wondering whether I should write to her again for instructions.
Thanks

You can read the professor’s recent publications on PubMed to prepare yourself. As for the emails, when did you send your last one? If the professor is out of town or just really busy, it might take a little while to respond.

You could do what we all do when trying to learn a new field. Search pubmed for as many recent review articles as you can about the subject the lab is studying. Pay attention to names of the last authors and soon you will get a good handle on who is doing what in the field and how your soon to be lab fits in.

I would suggest you email grad students and postdocs in the lab too. Otherwise your only point of contact is the PI who is too busy to really help you along anyway.

Have a great time in LA.
