UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCSD, Vanderbilt, UIUC, and UMass Amherst. What are my chances?

I currently live in the east coast.

Weighted: 3.94 (I’m showing this one)
Unweighted: 3.35
SAT Score: 1770
Edit: My superscore is somewhere in the low 1900s.
Math 2 and Chem: 680

I’m a varsity swimmer and I cofounded a chess club for kids in my town’s local library. I’m the vice president.
I interned at a startup in Santa Clara, California
I also volunteered for about 40 hours as a child leader in a vacation bible school.

My essays for UC schools and UIUC were about my internship and how my brother changing jobs from a well-paying and stable one to a low-paying and less-stable one affected me.

I haven’t done my common app essays yet.

I know my sat scores and gpa is rather low. I’ve already gotten accepted to Rutgers New Brunswick in the school of Engineering and the School of Arts and Sciences.

I’m looking to find some career in engineering or chemistry.

My sat scores and gpa are pretty bad and I’m just wondering what my chances are in getting into these colleges.

Thanks!

UCLA, UCSD, Vanderbilt -Unlikely
UCI, UCSB - (low) Reach

UCLA: High Reach
UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCSB: Low Reach

Test scores are just not competitive for these schools. GPA is also a bit low. Are you prepared to pay $55K/year if you are accepted into the UC’s? No FA for OOS students.

All the UC’s you’ve listed are reaches. UCSB is getting harder every year and last year they announced that their UC GPA for the engineering school was somewhere around 4.1. Forgot the exact GPA.

Your SAT is very, very low for UCLA and UCSD. If you were to get into the 2100 range, it’d be a different story. UCs do not superscore any standardized testing score. What is your UC GPA? You might have a chance at the lower-tier UCs. Engineering of any type at the top UCs is very competitive and requires a high SAT/ACT score.
