UCLA UD electives for transfer students

Hi all,
I tranferred to ucla this fall. I’m a Chemistry (material science) major and will have many course work done to graduate…
Here’s my question:
Since those mandotory classes for graduation (from department’s handbook) do exceed 60 units, do I still have to take any other upper electives?
If so, any suggestions? I want it to be interesting and/or easy…

Besides, during the orientation, the department chiar told us that transfer students will have trouble when they register classes because most pre-requisites they took from their college cannot be recognized by ucla’s registration system…IS THIS TRUE?

Thanks for response!

no answeres:(???

Since UCLA is on the quarter system, you should have schedule space for about 90 quarter units in your six quarters after transfer. So if there are 60 quarter units of specified courses, you have 30 quarter units of electives (of which some may be restricted electives and some may be free electives).

No idea if UCLA’s registration system enforces prerequisites.
