UCLA & USC BFA/BA

Does anyone know if USC and UCLA let kids audition/work on movies outside of school while studying?

Attending auditions may mean that you’re losing class time and/or missing assignments and study groups.
That would be like missing any class for any reason.

Should an auditioning student book a job, depending on the length and commitment duration,
most likely they would need to take a leave of absence to fulfill their contract.

Think about it this way – if you’re a student who is taking a theater class and the teacher assigns you a scene study with another student, who, after a week into the assignment books an outside job for three weeks, where would that leave you? Finding another partner? Not completing the assignment? Either way, it’s not fair to the other students in the class.

I don’t see how USC or UCLA (or any other school) could stop you from auditioning or working outside of school.
