Hey guys. I am going to compile a pros and cons list for UCLA and Cal in an effort to help me decide. Do you know any websites that can offer a good academic and student perspective to both schools?(testimonials etc…)

talk.collegeconfidential.com

but seriously, try college p r o w l e r.com

student reviews . com

without the spaces.

It’s students review (dot) com not student reviews (dot) com.

I find students review to generally be exceptionally biased toward the negative aspects of schools. I like college ******* better and sometimes read students review just to get an idea of complaints about each school, not as a main source of info.

oops, always mix it up… i dont really like college p r o w l e r. the ratings seem arbitrary and the authors dont really tell us anything important. cp is better for generals like how big greek life is or if theres any shopping etc. the student reviews are short, vague descriptions. ************** is better imo because they talk about the entire school experience instead of just “housing” or “weather” there does seem to be a lot of ranting though ie. ucsd but maybe the complaints are real ? some schools have a lot of positive reviews ie. ucsb.

I see clgprlwr as a pretty holistic view. in general, most people are only going to write something if they feel strongly about it. some rmp teachers get a terrible rap for being more difficult than others, but that doesn’t make them them bad teachers. as with any source, you must take it with a grain of salt because each experience is different. clgprlr gives a good general feel IMO, and what the school generally has to offer.

why aren’t we allowed to type college p r ow ler?? makes no sense

bc they’re cc’s enemies :p

I like clgprwlr better because they use holistic approaches and are unbiased. The site is a great reference for a student trying to get a current undergraduate perspective.
