I think a perception that NU is more social than WashU is misinformed. WashU is definitely a work hard / play hard place where it is not difficult to pick just how social you want to be (I.e how many nights per week you want to go out and have fun). There is a tight knit sense of community and STL is a lesser known hidden gem filled with interesting neighborhoods and great restaurants. I think if you stepped on campus you’d be done and heading to STL. I also think you are correct that the student body is both smart, ambitious and nice and welcoming - you don’t find this everywhere!
