UCLA vs UCSD?

Hey everyone, so I’ve been admitted to both UCSD and UCLA, with UCLA giving me a pretty generous financial package whereas I have to pay ~$9000 a year for UCSD. I want to be a humanities major, most likely an ethnic studies minor, and ive been accepted into UCLA undeclared humanities and UCSD’s Reveille college.

I visited UCSD’s overnight program and I absolutely loved it. The environment, surroundings, people, campus, everything was beautiful. I’ve visited UCLA but UCSD seemed more connected. So now I’m undecided on which to choose.

The main thing I loved at UCSD was the student resource center and all the student governed activities and student activism they had, does UCLA have that as well?

Also, UCLA’s location seems more of a party scene and somewhere you can enjoy only if you have money, whereas UCSD had so many studrnt -run activities that didn’t even require leaving the campus.

Can anyone give their advice on student activism at UCLA as well as the feel of the campus compared to UCSD? During my time at UCSD, the “socially dead” stereotype turned out to be a complete lie so any advice other than that one is perfectly welcome.

Thanks!

Yeah, UCLA has lots of students organizations

Nah you don’t have to spend money if you don’t want to

Go to the college you feel most comfortable at. If you’re that passionate about UCSD, it’d be a shame to miss out on that experience. The other differences between the two schools, apart from overall school spirit and open parties, will probably be negligible.
