What are some strengths of each university and weaknesses. Which university has a safer community. Beauty, food, dorms, people, etc… Will you guys provide some insight about the 2 universities?

Weaknesses: Anything bad that applies to large state universities

UCLA has the 2nd best food in that nation.

I visited both universities and thought that UCLA had a much more beautiful campus and a better social environment. Academically, both colleges are excellent, although UCSD is relatively weak in the social science/humanities departments (with the notable exception of political science). But in the natural sciences, both universities are top notch.

As far as safety goes, both communities are very safe, UCSD being located in the wealthy town of La Jolla and UCLA located next to Beverly Hills.

Pharmacy: Which one is better.

AZman,

I disagree. UCSD is strong in many of the humanities and social sciences! They’ve got a top 10 econ dept., a top 15 history dept (with top 10 in East Asia) and a top 10 or so East Asian studies program.

I’d put the other programs around top 15 to 20 as well.

Both are VERY safe.

8-man,

Pharmacy is a grad study. Not undergrad.

Here are some photos I took of random buildings on the UCLA campus:

The prettier buildings are in the northern side of campus… I refrained from taking photos of well, south campus esp since it’s not as aesthetically pleasing.
