Is it possible to get accepted into UCLA with an sat score of 2000?

It is possible with that score. However, you must remember all UCs have a comprehensive review for their admissions. This year has been a little interesting; Many people have been getting in with around 1700 in the SATs.

The mean SAT score for admitted students at UCLA for Fall 2006 was 2003, so 2000 should put you in the running. Remember, however, that UCs generally put a lot of emphasis on GPAs. The mean weighted GPA for UCLA was 4.12. See http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2006/freshman_admit_profile_2006.pdf for more details on admit statistics for UCs.

How do percentage transfer over to gpas?
ex. 95%

There should be more info on the website. 95% should be an A…so it counts as 4 points (unless it is an AP/college class).

Keep in mind that the 4.12 is capped at 8 honor points. The fully weighted GPA is a 4.27, unweighted is a 3.81

Not all UCs go by a comprehensive review.
The only two I know of that actually do use comprehensive review is San Diego and Davis.

I got into LA with about a 2000 on the SAT with mediocre GPA and SAT IIs, but decent essays and extracurriculars.

What exactly do you mean by “comprehensive review?”

Actually all UCs go by comprehensive review - http://www.ucop.edu/news/comprev/welcome.html

UC San Diego and UC Davis are the only two schools that do it by a point system; they have a formula. Your test scores, gpa, ECs are addded up according to their formula (published on their site) and then if you meet their minimum score set that year you are accepted. The other UCs accept by discretion, not an exact formula (not that I’m aware of anyway).

I’ve heard that UCLA has a points system as well, from reputable sources.
